Question:
Where can I get additional information about Hampton conservation and environmental issues (other than this website)?

Answer:
One area you can check is the Hampton Conservation Commission, since they have a greater handle on protecting the area's wetlands - finding out what a wetland is, and how & why they're protected; the salt marsh & other matters regarding conservation of lands; etc.

Another place is the Hampton Mosquito Commission, which has information on how they find a balance between dealing with disease spreading mosquitos and not doing more harm with whatever chemicals they may use to spray breeding areas.

You can find contacts for these commissions on the town website:

www.hamptonnh.gov

You will find boards, commissions and committees in the top navigation bar.

The Lane Memorial Library is also an excellent resource, once you've found a specific topic to research.

For information on what the state legislature is doing, you can go to:

www.nh.gov

This website is very comprehensive, and can tell you who our reps are for both the Senate and the House, current legislation, and departments within the state government that are working on environmental issues. Specifically check out DES - Department of Environmental Services, and OEP - Office of Energy & Planning.

Question:
My lamp's socket says "60 Watts Maximum". Can I use a Compact fluorescent bulb with an "equivalency" greater than 60 watts?

Answer:
Yes. You should compare the actual wattage used by the compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb, not the "equivalence" to determine whether you can use a particular CFL bulb in a particular socket. For example, a CFL bulb that is equivalent to a 75 Watt Incandescent bulb, but uses an actual 20 Watts, can be used in a socket that says you should not exceed 60 Watts.
